The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported a 3.9 magnitude earthquake at Soreng in Sikkim at 0558 hours (local time) on Saturday (03 January). Additionally, the earthquake was reported at a depth of 5 kilometers (km), at a distance of 12 km south of Pelling.
