As per reports, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a Bushfire Emergency Warning for the area bounded by Norwood Road, Taylor Road, Colac Place, Bird Road, Alpine Road, Wandoo Road, Holmes Road, Anderson Road, and Hawtin Road in Kalamunda, Maida Vale, and Forrestfield on Thursday (01 January).

• Fire burning near Temby Avenue and Harbour Road poses immediate threat to lives and homes requiring immediate evacuation westward toward Hawtin Road via Maud or Norwood Roads.
• The evacuation center is operational at the High Wycombe Community and Recreation Centre, 200 Newburn Road.
• Power outages are currently reported to affect over 2000 homes while multiple road closures including Harbour Road, Temby Road, and Holmes Road have been implemented.
• Perth Airport operations are reported to remain unaffected as of 0930 local hours (0130 hours UTC) on Thursday (01 January).
