The Indonesia Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) has issued a weather warning for moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds for parts of North Maluku region until 0930 hours (local time) on Wednesday (31 December).

Locations likely to be impacted include South Halmahera Regency (East Obi) and Sula Islands Regency (East Sulawesi).

• The warning for heavy rainfall conditions may extend to South Halmahera Regency (South Obi, Obi, Joronga Islands, West Obi, North Obi) and Sula Islands Regency (Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi).
