As per reports, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam on Monday (29 December) instructed field-level police officers to maintain law and order, giving the highest priority to the upcoming national election.

Pre-election law and order can be expected. Police presence will increase through regular patrols and strengthened searches at check-posts.
