As per reports, Kyoto Prefecture announced on Wednesday (24 December) that a suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza that broke out at a poultry farm in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, had tested positive for the virus.

According to the prefecture, this is the ninth case nationwide this season, and approximately 280,000 chickens being raised at the farm will be culled.
