The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued severe heatwave warnings for parts of Western Australia until Thursday (25 December).
The following are the additional details:
• Locations likely to be impacted include Perth Metropolitan Area, Dwellingup, Geraldton, Gingin, Karratha and Yanchep across Pilbara, Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West and South West.
• Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach between 31 degrees Celsius to 39 degrees Celsius with elevated overnight minimums between 13 to 21 degrees Celsius, limiting overnight cooling and increasing cumulative heat stress.
