Fire incident reported in Salisbury on Monday (15 December)

As per reports, a fire occurred at a residence at 1143 Laurel Street, Salisbury, North Carolina, at approximately 1650 hours local time (2150 hours UTC) on Monday (15 December).

Salisbury fire department responded to the scene immediately and encountered heavy fire conditions upon arrival.

• During the fire extinguishing efforts, a gas line explosion caused the roof to collapse.
• 11 crew members were reportedly injured. Multiple residents were also treated and transported for medical care.
• As of 1930 hours local time (0030 hours UTC on 16 December), firefighting operations and investigation to identify cause of the fire are ongoing.
