According to reports, Seoul and surrounding regions are expected to witness heavy snowfall on Saturday (13 December).
• About 8cm of snow is forecast for Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from Saturday afternoon (13 December), likely prompting a heavy snow advisory.
• The Korea Meteorological Administration also warned of possible road icing, as the cold spell gripping South Korea is expected to continue through the weekend. Temperatures in Seoul are projected to fall to minus three degrees Celsius on Sunday (14 December).
• The agency forecast 5 to 10 centimeters in inland and mountainous Gangwon; 3 to 8 centimeters in northern and southeastern Gyeonggi and central and northern Chungcheong provinces; and 1 to 5 centimeters in Seoul, Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi, the five Yellow Sea islands and inland northern North Gyeongsang. Jeju Island’s mountainous areas, parts of Chungcheong and eastern North Jeolla are expected to receive 1 to 3 centimeters.
