As per reports, the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT) has announced movement restrictions for cargo traffic, scheduled to be implemented during Christmas and New Year holidays from 23 December till 02 January.

The restrictions are scheduled from 0600 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) on 23 December till 0500 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) on 26 December, and from 0600 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) on 30 December till 0500 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) on 02 January 2026.

• INTRANT stated that vehicles including those holding Restricted Access Zone (ZAR) permits are also included.
• Special permits will be issues for supply of priority products.
• The restrictions are to ensure road safety and manage traffic flows.
