As per reports, the US National Weather Service in Blacksburg issued a Wind Advisory for parts of northwest North Carolina, southwest Virginia and southeast West Virginia, including Ashe, Alleghany, Watauga, Grayson and Western Greenbrier counties, on Wednesday (26 November).
• The advisory is in effect from 1900 hours local time on Wednesday (26 November) to 1100 hours local time on Thursday (27 November) (0000 hours UTC to 1600 hours UTC).
• Forecasts indicate west winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour across the affected areas, including the cities of Boone, Sparta, West Jefferson, Troutdale, Independence, Whitetop, Volney, Rainelle, Quinwood and Duo.
