As per reports, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred approximately 147 km south-southeast of Tarama, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, at a depth of 10 km on Friday (31 October).

The nearest populated locations to the epicentre include Tarama, Ishigaki, and Miyakojima. No immediate reports of casualties, infrastructure damage, or tsunami alerts have been issued following the tremor.
