The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts across Tamil Nadu till Wednesday (29 October). The cyclone is expected to further affect Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
• On Sunday (26 October), a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and squalls for Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Kallakurichi, Kancheepuram, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari, Namakkal, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Salem, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Thiruvallur, Thiruvarur, Thoothukudi, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tirupathur, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, The Nilgiris, Vellore, Viluppuram, and Virudhunagar districts.
• On Monday (27 October), an orange alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and squalls for Thiruvallur, Chennai, Ranippettai and Kancheepuram districts.
• Additionally, on Monday (27 October), a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls and strong winds for Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Kallakurichi, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari, Namakkal, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Salem, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Thiruvarur, Thoothukudi, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tirupathur, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, The Nilgiris, Vellore, Viluppuram, and Virudhunagar districts.
• On Tuesday (28 October), an orange alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and squalls for the Thiruvallur district.
• On Wednesday (29 October), no IMD warnings have been issued for any districts of Tamil Nadu as of Sunday (26 October).
