Power outages reported in three states in southeast Mexico on on Friday (26 September)

As per reports, a large-scale power outage occurred in the early afternoon hours in three states in southeast Mexico on Friday (26 September).

• The three affected states were Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo.
• By the time of the reporting, the power restoration was successful in parts of Merida, Campeche, Chetumal, Bacalar and Holbox.
• The international press was informed about the case through Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s X (formerly known as Twitter) post.
• According to the Federal Electricity Commission (Comisión Federal de Electricidad), power was cut to more than 2.2 million customers around 1400 hours (local time) on Friday (26 September), while maintenance was being performed on transmission lines.
