Update of wildfires in British Columbia as of Wednesday (17 September)

As per reports, multiple brush fires and wildfires are burning in the southern part of British Columbia on Wednesday (17 September).

• A new wildfire has erupted near the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Area G. The fire, called ‘Lower Shatford Creek fire’, is burning on 0.009 hectares 6 kilometres northeast of Nickel Plate Lake.
• Multiple small brush fires were reported on Monday (15 September) and Tuesday (16 September), near the City of Kelowna. According to officials from the Kelowna Fire Department, the fires may originate from the homeless encampments at the bottom of Dilworth Mountain, near the city.
