As per reports, an epidemiological containment operation has been launched in Oaxaca following the detection of imported measles cases in Mexico on Thursday (11 September)
• The Oaxaca Ministry of Health confirmed that checkpoints have been reinforced at bus terminals, airports, highways, and seaports to prevent the spread of the virus.
• The outbreak traces back to cases imported from the US, where infections originating from Laos and China were first reported and later transmitted across border states such as Chihuahua, Sonora, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, and Nuevo León.
• Health authorities have mobilized 263 brigade members under the coordination of the Health Emergency Intelligence Unit, supported by the National Social Security System (SSO), Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS-Bienestar and IMSS Ordinary), and the National Institute of Social Security (ISSSTE).
