As per reports, the ‘United Power of the Land to Protect Sovereignty’ group has called for a large rally at 1200 hours (local time) on Sunday (31 August) at Victory Monument, reiterating six demands, including opposition to a Pheu Thai candidate, cancellation of MOU 43-44, and prohibiting amendments to Chapters 01-02 of the Constitution.
The protest will involve the Student and People’s Network for Thailand Reform (SNRN) and allied groups. Organizers stated the rally will proceed irrespective of turnout, focusing on opposing any Pheu Thai Party prime ministerial candidate and measures perceived to bolster Thaksin Shinawatra’s influence.
