Rainfall forecast in parts of Mexico on Thursday (28 August)

As per reports, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) has forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Mexico on Thursday (28 August).

• The Mexican monsoon, in interaction with a cyclonic circulation at medium levels of the atmosphere over Baja California Sur, is forecast to generate very heavy rainfall.
• The subtropical jet stream over northwestern Mexico, combined with the remnants of Tropical System ‘Juliette,’ is expected to bring additional rainfall to Baja California.
• Very heavy to occasionally intense rainfall of between 75 to 150 millimeters is forecast for Oaxaca (southwest), Chiapas (east and south), and Tabasco (east and south).
• Heavy to very strong rainfall of 50 to 75 millimeters is expected in Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Veracruz, and Campeche (southwest).
• Rainfall, with occasional heavy rainfall of 25 to 50 millimetres, is likely in Baja California, Zacatecas, Colima, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Puebla, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
• For Mexico City, temperatures are forecast to range from 13 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in the morning and 22 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, while Toluca is forecast to experience 10 degrees Celsius to 12 degrees Celsius in the morning and 19 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius during the day.
