According to reports, Malaysia Airlines will retime its flights between Tuesday and Sunday (26-31 August) due to a temporary airspace closure around Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in conjunction with Malaysia’s 68th Merdeka celebration.
The airspace will be closed daily from 0800 hours to 1200 hours during the six-day period.
• The revised flight schedule affects services departing from and arriving at KLIA.
• Passengers departing at KLIA have been advised to arrive at the airport four hours ahead of their rescheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for check-in procedures and the necessary document checks at various checkpoints.
• Malaysia Airlines has listed the affected flights by date, but did not specify the total number of impacted services. Revised flight schedules can be accessed via https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/nz/en/mh-media-centre/important-for-you/klia-closure-26-31-august-2025.html?empty
