Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings for parts of the country active till 2200 hours (local time) on Thursday (21 August).

Thunderstorm, heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected in the following areas:

• Kedah: Langkawi
• Kelantan: Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Gua Musang
• Terengganu: Besut
• Pahang: Cameron Highlands, Lipis and Raub
• Sarawak: Kapit (Song and Kapit), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang
• Sabah: Interior, West Coast and Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan)
• WP Labuan
