The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a forecast thunderstorm warning in Queensland on Thursday (21 August) with severe thunderstorms anticipated in Darling Downs and Gold Coast, accompanied by heavy rainfall. The forecast was issued at 0951 Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) and is valid until midnight on Thursday (21 August).

Furthermore, moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted in Southeast region with isolated to scattered showers near east coast and the Peninsula region on Thursday (21 August).

• Additionally, in New South Wales (NSW) major flood warning are issued for Namoi River and moderate flood warning is issued for the Peel River along with Tamworth, Manila, CarrollGap, Gunnedah and Goangra. The surrounding areas have minor flood warnings and flood watches on Thursday (21 August).
