The National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan (Kazhydromet) issued weather advisories for Kazakhstan for Thursday (21 August):

• Karaganda Region: Thunderstorms are forecast in the east during the afternoon, with southwesterly to westerly winds at 15–20 metres per second (m/s) in the north and east. Fire hazard remains elevated in the south. Karaganda city is forecast to have gusty southwesterly winds in the afternoon.
• Zhetisu Region: Thunderstorms are forecast in the east, centre, and mountainous areas, with westerly winds of 15–20 m/s in the east and mountains. High fire hazard persists in the south and east. Taldykorgan is forecast to have occasional thunderstorms.
• Almaty Region: Thunderstorms are forecast in the south and mountainous areas, with southeast winds shifting to southwest in the afternoon at 15–20 m/s. Daytime temperatures may reach 35 degrees Celsius.
• Atyrau Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in the west and south. Fog is forecast in the west at night and morning. Winds will shift from northwest to southwest in the afternoon in the west, gusting 15–20 m/s. Fire hazard levels remain elevated in the west, east, and south. Atyrau city is forecast to have thunderstorms in the evening.
• Aktobe Region: A heightened fire hazard is expected to persist in the southern part of the region.
• Zhambyl Region: Southwesterly winds shifting to northwesterly in the southwest and northeast are expected at 15–20 m/s, including in mountainous areas. Elevated fire hazard persists across the region. Taraz is forecast to have a persistent fire risk.
• Ulytau Region: Northwesterly winds of 15–20 m/s are forecast in the centre and north during the afternoon. Elevated fire hazard persists in the east. Zhezkazgan is forecast to have gusty northwesterly winds in the afternoon.
• West Kazakhstan Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in the west during the day, with fog in the north at night and morning. Winds will shift from northwest to west at 15–20 m/s. Fire hazard remains elevated in the west. Uralsk is forecast to have fog at night and in the morning.
• Pavlodar Region: Heavy rainfall, hail, and squalls are forecast in the west and north, with thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. Southeast winds of 15–20 m/s are forecast in the afternoon. Pavlodar city is forecast to have afternoon thunderstorms.
• Mangystau Region: Thunderstorms are expected in the northwest and east during the day. Northeasterly winds of 15–20 m/s are forecast in the west and east. Daytime temperatures may reach 38 degrees Celsius. Fire hazard levels remain elevated across most areas. Aktau is forecast to have northeasterly winds of 15–20 m/s during the day.
