The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Mariveles, Bataan, Central Luzon, at 0219 hours (local time) on Monday (18 August).
• The epicentre was recorded at a depth of approximately 166.86 km. A second report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) listed the quake at magnitude 4.4.
• The tremor was felt as very weak shaking in nearby towns and cities including Ternate (15 km from epicentre), Mariveles (17 km), Naic (20 km), Limay (28 km), General Trias (33 km), Dasmariñas (38 km), Balanga (41 km), Manila (54 km), Quezon City (63 km), and San Fernando (81 km). No tsunami warning has been issued.
