Clashes reported in Melbourne on Saturday (16 August) during Women Will Speak rally

As per reports, clashes were witnessed between the police and pro-trans activists on Spring Street during a march from Carlton Gardens on Saturday (16 August), during the Women Will Speak gathering at Parliament House, resulting in at least four arrests.

The Women Will Speak gathering began at around 1100-1200 hours (local time), demanding women’s rights, during which around 100 pro-trans demonstrators gathered, protesting against the gathering. Heavy police presence with flares, barricades and water barriers was deployed.
