As per reports, the Mount Underwood wildfire burning south of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island has grown to 3406 hectares by Thursday afternoon (14 August).

• Despite the fire’s continued spread, forecasted rainfall in the region over the coming days could assist firefighting efforts and slow further growth.
• As of the latest update, a large portion of the fire remains uncontained, but no evacuation orders have been issued at this stage.
