The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Tuesday (29 July):

• Mumbai and Pune – No warnings have been issued for Mumbai (city and suburbs), Thane and Pune.
• Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) – No warnings have been issued for Delhi and Noida. Yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, squalls, and lightning issued in Gurgaon.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued in the forecast for both Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
• Hyderabad – No warning has been issued.
• Chennai – A yellow alert has been issued for strong surface winds.
• Bengaluru – A yellow alert has been issued for strong surface winds for Bengaluru urban and rural.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued.
• Thiruvananthapuram – A yellow alert for strong surface winds has been issued.
