As per reports, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for multiple areas in Southern New England, including Hartford, Tolland, Windham (Connecticut); Franklin, Worcester, Essex, Hampshire, Hampden, Norfolk, Middlesex, Suffolk, Bristol, Plymouth (Massachusetts); and Providence, Kent (Rhode Island). The advisory will be in effect from 1100 hours (local time) on Thursday (24 July) to 2000 hours (local time) on Friday (25 July).
• Heat index values are expected to range between 95 and 103, with peak intensity on Friday (25 July).
• High temperatures coupled with elevated humidity levels increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
