As per reports, the Odisha Drivers Maahsangha, an association of drivers of commercial vehicles including buses and trucks, called off the ‘cease work’ strike on Sunday (13 July) after five days.
Manas Debata, the association’s state secretary, stated that the decision to call off the strike was due to President Murmu’s scheduled visit to Odisha on Monday (14 July). He further stated that the association does not want to tarnish the image of Odisha at a national level.
