Philippines weather update – Sunday (13 July)

According to reports, rainfall is expected over several parts of the country as the southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect the Philippines, the state weather bureau stated on Sunday (13 July).

• In its weather forecast at 0400 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated that Tropical Storm Nari, located 2,165 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has no direct effect on the country.
• Meanwhile, PAGASA stated it is also monitoring a cluster of clouds east of Mindanao, which may develop into a low pressure area (LPA) in the coming days.
• Palawan will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon, which may trigger flash floods or landslides.
• Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
• Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
• As per the latest thunderstorm advisory issued at 1137 hours, moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon and Cavite within the next three hours; https://x.com/dost_pagasa/status/1944239933876826152
