As per reports, Deutsche Bahn is expecting ICE trains between Berlin and Munich to be severely disrupted and delayed until Thursday (10 July).
A suspected arson attack in Hirschaid has completely closed a stretch of the Berlin-Munich route between Bamberg and Forchheim (Oberfranken).
• Replacement bus services has been scheduled to be in operation between Forchheim (Oberfranken) and Bamberg.
• Due to roadworks, the replacement buses will not stop at the intervening stations commonly served on the route such as Strullendorf, Hirschaid, Buttenheim, Eggolsheim and Forchheim Nord.
• Taxis departing from Forchheim and Bamberg will bring passengers to these stops.
• Passengers using regional transport between Nuremberg and Bamberg are encouraged to divert their journeys via Würzburg.
• Passengers can use the RB53, RE54 or RE20 between Bamberg and Würzburg and the RE10 between Würzburg and Nuremberg.
• Trains between Berlin and Munich, as well as any other long-distance trains that use the route between Erfurt and Nuremberg, is expeced to be diverted, resulting in a journey that is approximately 90 minutes longer.
• Trains will not stop at Erlangen and Bamberg, and certain IC services between Leipzig and Nuremberg via Jena have been cancelled.
• Some services between Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe and Gera have also been cancelled.
