As per reports, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Police Department will implement a series of road and parkway closures for the 4th of July weekend, beginning on 03 July.

The weekend road closures will include:

• West River Parkway from 4th Avenue N. to 11th Avenue S, from 04 July morning until the morning of 05 July.
• Main Street SE, from Hennepin Avenue to 6th Avenue SE, starting at 1500 hours (local time).
• West Bde Maka Ska Parkway, from Richfield Road to Xerxes Avenue S.
• East Bde Maka Ska Parkway, from West 36th Street to West 31st Street, will take effect in the evening of 03 July and will last until the morning of 05 July.
• 2nd Street S. closed from 3rd Avenue to 13th Avenue.
• University Avenue SE from 35 W to Oak Street, and 4th Street SE from I-3 W to Oak Street SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic.
• The closures will support safe and spacious environments for viewing fireworks, social gatherings, and outdoor activities.
• MPRB and the Minneapolis Police Department will coordinate to maintain clear emergency corridors throughout the closures.
