As per reports, floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have blocked roads at six different locations on major highways in Nepal, severely disrupting transportation on Tuesday (17 June).
• A landslide in Chapeli of Bagmati Rural Municipality–3 in Lalitpur has blocked the Kanti Lokpath Road.
• Similarly, the Araniko Highway has been affected in three separate locations in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok district due to landslides. The affected areas include Kodari (Ward 2), Larcha (Ward 3), and Koplang (Ward 2).
• In Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), the East-West Highway is blocked after a flood in the Binayi River swept away a diversion in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality–1.
• Additionally, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality–6, Gulmi, has been completely closed due to a landslide in Barlaba.
• In Jumla, a landslide in Sinja has obstructed the Jumla–Mugu Road, and in Dhankuta, the Rabi–Ranke–Bhedetar Road in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality–5 has been opened for one-way traffic only.
