As per reports, on Wednesday (11 June) approximately 200 demonstrators gathered outside San Antonio City Hall to protest US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and the broader immigration agenda of the Trump administration, which includes a stated target of 3,000 arrests per day.
• Protesters also reportedly voiced broader concerns over human rights, federal detention practices, and the symbolic militarization of enforcement efforts.
• Additional demonstrations are planned throughout the weekend in cities including San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Austin, with particular attention on Saturday (14 June), which coincides with both a Trump military parade and the ‘No Kings Day’ protest campaign. Similar protests are being organized in at least 64 cities across Texas.
• In anticipation of potential unrest, Governor Greg Abbott has deployed Texas National Guard units to multiple cities, including San Antonio and Austin.
