As per reports, restoration works on Planșeul Unirii (Union Floor) is scheduled to officially begin on Tuesday (10 June). The restoration is being led by the Sector four City Hall to improve public safety, regenerate public spaces, and upgrade urban infrastructure in the Piața Unirii area.
• The restoration project is scheduled to be carried out in four phases, covering key areas including the front of the Unirea Shopping Center, the vicinity of Hanul lui Manuc, the zone around the artesian fountains, and the Pasajul Unirii area where the Dâmbovița River surfaces from beneath the slab.
• Construction begins with Zones one and two. In Stage one, construction staging will be set up in front of the Unirea Shopping Center. Stage two, near Hanul lui Manuc, is scheduled to commence after the school summer break.
• Partial road closures are scheduled to begin from Tuesday (10 June), including restrictions on Splaiul Independenței near the Palace of Justice. Authorized and emergency vehicles will still have access.
• Pedestrian traffic through the park will be restricted in the early phase. Walkways around the park will remain accessible.
• STB bus stations are scheduled to be temporarily relocated, with dedicated public transport lanes established on Unirii Boulevard to maintain service continuity.
