As per reports, a severe weather warning has been issued for the federal states of Brandenburg and Berlin, with significant disruptions expected beginning Wednesday afternoon (04 June). Further weather disruptions are expected to continue until Friday (06 June).
• The German Weather Service (DWD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by hail, heavy rainfall, and strong winds on Wednesday (04 June) across Brandenburg and Berlin.
• Thunderstorms may bring heavy rainfall, with localized rainfall of up to 25 litres per square meter in short periods. Wind gusts are expected to reach 60 kilometres per hour (Beaufort force seven), with the potential for severe storms in certain areas delivering rainfall of up to 35 litres per square meter and wind speeds between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour (force eight to nine). Hail is also a potential hazard in these localized severe storm cells.
• The inclement weather conditions are expected to persist through Wednesday evening (04 June) and into Thursday night (05 June), with the thunderstorm system shifting eastward.
• On Friday night (06 June), cloud cover is expected to increase across Brandenburg and Berlin, eventually becoming overcast. Rainfall is expected to arrive from the west, with overnight temperatures forecast between 12 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius.
