According to reports, a bomb explosion was reported in a military pickup truck in Ban Na Phrao, Village No. 2, Panare District, Pattani Province on Monday (02 June). Four soldiers in the vehicle sustained critical injuries. One soldier succumbed to his injuries.

In addition to the rangers, one villager who happened to be driving by was also slightly injured. Initial investigations suggest that the bomb was to be an improvised explosive device contained in a gas cylinder hidden under the road and was planted by an insurgent group.
