As per reports, scattered and isolated thunderstorms are expected to impact parts of the Chicago area on Friday (30 May) evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Storm development may begin as early as 1700 hours (local time) and continue through midnight.
The storms have the potential to produce locally damaging wind gusts up to 65 miles per hour and small hail. Additionally, heavy rainfall and lightning strikes are possible throughout the event.
