As per reports, on Wednesday (21 May), water service will be interrupted in various sectors of Barranquilla, Soledad, Galapa, and Malambo due to scheduled maintenance activities.
• The disruption is forecast to occur between 0600 hours (local time) and 2200 hours (local time), as work is carried out on the energy system connecting the Barranquilla Drinking Water Treatment Station (PTAP) to the electrical grid.
• A 42-inch pipe leak in the PTAP adduction system is also scheduled be repaired, as part of the maintenance efforts.
• The Ciudadela Pumping Station’s two megawatt (MW) backup generator is scheduled to undergo servicing to ensure operational reliability during emergencies such as power outages or system failures.
• Cleaning is expected be conducted on the La Sierra tank in Galapa, and on tanks at the Ciudadela pumping station and High Pressure Station Number four, in accordance with Decree 1575 of 2007.
• Additional infrastructure work includes the splicing of a 24-inch pipe at Race 3E with 19th Street (Simón Bolívar neighbourhood), and leak repair on a second 24-inch pipe at 110th Street with Race six.
