As per reports, the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) has issued yellow and orange weather alerts across several Brazilian states on Wednesday (21 May), warning of adverse weather conditions.

• The North Region, including Amazonas, Roraima, Pará, and Amapá, is expected to experience heavy rainfall, with particular concern for flooding in the east of Amazonas and the north of Pará.
• The Northeast Region, especially coastal areas of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Alagoas, is under an orange alert due to the risk of intense and accumulated rainfall.
• In the Midwest and Southeast, including southern Mato Grosso do Sul, northern São Paulo, and northern Paraná, a yellow alert has been issued for low humidity, raising health-related concerns.
• The South Region, particularly Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, is under alerts for low humidity and strong winds, especially in coastal zones where gusts may intensify.
• Weather forecasts indicate variability nationwide, with the North and Northeast seeing persistent rainfall, while the Midwest, Southeast, and parts of the South are expected to remain mostly dry and sunny.
