As per reports, ground public transportation services in Sofia, including buses, trolleybuses, and trams, remain suspended for the fourth consecutive day due to a strike as of Saturday (17 May).

• The Sofia Metropolitan Municipality has confirmed that the metro system will continue to operate during this disruption and will extend its working hours on Sunday (18 May) due to an event at Vasil Levski National Stadium.
• Metro operations will be extended until 0130 hours (local time) on Monday (19 May).
• No resolution has been reached between the transport workers’ unions and the Sofia Municipality. The mayor of Sofia has stated that a return to work by employees is a prerequisite for any further negotiations.
• The Sofia Municipality and the Ministry of Education are also discussing contingency plans to provide transport for students attending matriculation exams in the coming week.
