As per reports, the Bangladesh Government has formed the July Uprising Department under its Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, through a gazette notification issued on Monday (28 April).

The department has been established to preserve the history of the July 2024 uprising and rehabilitate the families of those killed and injured in the protests that led to the ouster of former Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina and her Awami League political party.
