As per reports, over 3,000-5,000 police personnel are expected to be deployed across Kolkata and Howrah ahead of Ram Navami on Sunday (06 April). Kolkata is expected to witness over 60 rallies and processions on the day of the festival. Local police have directed rally organisers to ensure no more than 200 participants at each rally, no DJ music to be played and the number of vehicles to be used will be restricted.
Additionally, large scale CCTV monitoring will be undertaken to maintain law and order. Howrah police will be deploying drones to monitor the situation while Sealdah, Entally and Tangra will be among some of the closely monitored locations.
