As per reports, the Trade Union Federation of Drivers 1st of May (FTS 1st of May) in Potosí announced an indefinite strike starting at 0000 hours (local time) on Wednesday (02 April), in response to a fuel shortage affecting the transport sector.
• The strike will involve blockades of streets, roads, and checkpoints, significantly impacting traffic in Potosí city and surrounding areas.
• The general secretary of the union, accused the government of discriminating against Potosí by providing smaller fuel allocations compared to central regions of the country.
• Long lines at service stations have become a common sight, with fuel quotas remaining low. Some drivers are waiting for up to three days to get fuel, which is affecting their ability to work.
• The union has pledged to maintain blockages of streets, roads, and checkpoints until the government addresses the fuel crisis and resolves the fuel supply imbalances.
