As per reports, a vehicle fire was reported on A27 Westbound between A270 (Stanmer Park, Falmer) and Carden Avenue (Hollingbury / Ditchling junction, Hollingbury) at approximately 0545 hours (local time) on Tuesday (01 April).

• The fire involved a single vehicle, and three fire engines from Preston Circus and Roedean attended the scene. The fire was extinguished by 0640 hours (local time) on Tuesday (01 April) with no casualties reported. Following the fire, Sussex Police took over traffic management duties.
• There is slow traffic and one lane closed on A27 Westbound between A270 (Stanmer Park, Falmer) and Carden Avenue (Hollingbury / Ditchling junction).
• Delays are being reported of five minutes and increasing on A23 London Road Southbound between A23 and Mill Road, with an average speed of 10 miles per hour.
• Queueing traffic is observed on A27 Eastbound at A23 London Road due to ongoing construction works in the area.
• Severe delays of 16 minutes have been reported on A27 Eastbound between A293 (Portslade / West Hove turn off) and Coldean Lane (Hollingbury / Ditchling junction), with an average speed of 10 miles per hour.
• Minor delays of seven minutes are being reported on both A27 Eastbound and Westbound. Average speed in these areas is around 10 miles per hour.
