As per reports on Monday (10 March), officials from the Assam Forest Department were on high alert as encroachers began constructing structures on disputed land in the Kakoi-Rajgarh area of Lakhimpur district, located on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh inter-state boundary.

When the authorities intervened and requested that the construction be halted, the individuals involved claimed ownership of the land, stating that it belonged to them.
