As per reports, section 163 has been imposed in Chikkamagalur afer the Jamia Masjid committee members demolished a house and hotel near the Bada Makan dargah on land which was claimed by the Nallur Math. The order has been imposed till Monday (10 March) to prevent any potential communal clashes.

Two FIRs have been registered against 14 people who carried out the demolition without any authorisation. Karnataka State Reserve Police has deployed personnel in the area.
