As per reports, a winter storm is expected to hit Massachusetts between the afternoon and early evening on Saturday (15 February), according to the National Weather Service (NWS). A Winter Storm Watch, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) will go into effect between Saturday (15 February) afternoon and Sunday (16 February) night and covers all of Massachusetts.
Between three to five inches of snowfall are expected in Boston and Springfield, while Worcester, Gloucester and Pittsfield could see between four to six inches of snowfall, according to forecast maps.
• At a minimum, Lowell could see four inches of snowfall while Greenfield and Fitchburg could see five inches. The highest possible total could be seven inches of snowfall in Greenfield and Lowell, and eight inches in Fitchburg.
• The Cape and Islands should see lower levels of snowfall, with Provincetown likely seeing between two and three inches of snow, forecasters said. Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard could see between one and two inches of snow.
