As per reports, following are the latest updates on the terrorist attack in Kulgam as of Tuesday (04 February):
• A major security operation has been reportedly launched in Jammu and Kashmir amid claims of responsibility for the attack by The Resistance Front (TRF) an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba. As a result, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained over 500 individuals for questioning, including suspected terrorist associates, former militants, and individuals with past links to terrorism.
• Further, candlelight vigils were reported in Baramulla, Bandipora, Anantnag, and Shopian against the terror incident on Tuesday (04 February).
• Additionally, in a separate incident, Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) also detained five individuals linked to smuggling SIM cards for terrorists in jails on Tuesday (04 February). The detained individuals were reportedly picked from Dawoodpora of Anantnag district, Qamarwari and Kursu Padshahi Bagh of Srinagar district, and Nathpora and Kaloosa of Bandipora.
