As per reports, starting 03 March, a reserved lane dedicated to carpooling and public transport will come into effect on the Paris ring road (Boulevard Périphérique) and parts of the A1 and A13 motorways.

• This lane, previously used as the Olympic lane during the Summer Games, will now be repurposed by Paris City Hall. It will be operational from Monday to Friday, from 0700 hours (local time) to 1030 hours (local time) and 1600 hour (local time) to 2000 hours (local time).
• The lane will be exclusively accessible to carpooling vehicles with two or more occupants, public transport vehicles, taxis (including empty ones), emergency vehicles, and holders of the mobility inclusion card.
• Non-compliance with the lane restrictions will result in a fine of EUR 135, effective from 01 May, 2025. A transitional adaptation and education period will be in place from 03 March to 30 April, during which warnings may be issued without financial penalties. Enforcement will be conducted through video surveillance systems, supported by AI technology capable of counting vehicle occupants. However, final violation assessments will be made by sworn municipal police officers.
