As per reports, Glasgow City Council issued an update regarding ongoing works at key junctions in the city center, specifically at Argyle Street, Douglas Street, James Watt Street, Blythswood Street, and Brown Street as of Sunday (02 February).

• The permanent traffic signals at these junctions have been restored and are now fully operational after several weeks of infrastructure work. Despite the restoration of these signals, the Argyle Street West Project remains ongoing, leading to lane restrictions in the affected areas. This is expected to cause reduced traffic flow capacity, particularly during peak hours.
• Additionally, the council has reported a traffic signal fault, necessitating the installation of temporary traffic signals at these junctions. These temporary measures are anticipated to remain in place for several weeks, potentially exacerbating congestion, especially during high-traffic periods.
