As per reports, Météo-France has placed six departments, Eure, Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique, Morbihan, Somme, and Val-d’Oiseon on an orange alert for floods on Monday (03 February).

• The northwest of France remains particularly vulnerable as rivers have not yet receded to their normal levels. The floods are expected to significantly impact the lower Vilaine (departments 35, 44, 56), the Epte (departments 27, 95), and the Somme (department 80). Although Météo-France forecasts a general trend towards a slow decline in water levels, caution is advised as considerable overflows persist, particularly in the northern and western regions.
• In addition to the six departments on orange alert, 18 others are under yellow alert for flood risks, while departments covering the Alps and the Pyrenees face yellow alerts for avalanche risks. According to Vigicrues, despite a gradual decrease in water levels, significant flooding remains in areas under orange alert. Residents and travellers in these regions are urged to stay vigilant even as conditions show signs of improvement.
• Weather conditions for Monday (03 February) are expected to include cold but sunny skies due to winter anticyclonic patterns. Motorists in the Center-East, north, northwest, and southwest are advised to be cautious of freezing fog during the morning hours. Light rainfall may occur in Brittany, while the afternoon is expected to be mostly sunny, although low clouds will persist in the North-West, Garonne Valley, Saône Valley, and Alsace.
